I'm in the Baltimore/DC area. All schools and activities have been cancelled. All trains and busses will stop running at around noon. As for me, I'm working from home and as of right now, have no reason to leave the house.
Mostly we are preparing for flooding and power outages. Made the run to the store yesterday for Batteries , food and stuff. Stores were packed with people doing the milk and toilet paper thing. Did a ton of cooking last night just in case.
Hope everybody affected by this storm will be safe!!!!! Please remember to fill jugs of water for drinking, and make sure to fill your bathtub with water for washing and flushing and such.
last night neil and i snuggled up on the sofa to watch a movie over a left over dinner.
we had both worked late and were tired.
we wanted to just relax and not think.
Billigoat:
Everybody loses their temper from time to time. Particularly when you are very tired. Looking at the situation, you had a long day at work, you finally got home and were enjoying a pleasant evening of peace and quiet with a loved one just chilling and watching a movie. Then....BAM....the friggin cat pisses on clean laundry. Just when you think your work for the day was over, extra chores were thrust upon you. (Personally, I think there is nothing worse than cat piss!!!). We had a cat that used to pee in inappropriate places. I nicknamed her (very un-PC like) Lo Mein because I would swear that's what I would make out of her.
As long as it does not happen all the time, I would not be too concerned. Everyone needs to vent from time to time. As long as the venting does not go too far and you are not constantly taking it out on your loved ones. If you feel you have a problem, there are steps you can take to control your venting. As Joytobefree mentioned, there is counceling, there are drugs (not the illegal kind either), there are support groups. Or, there is just posting on this board and talking to people who have had similar experiences.
I hope all works out well for you

Little Tommy (who was Jewish) was doing very badly in math. His parents had
tried everything: tutors, mentors, flash cards,
special learning centers. In short, everything they could think of.
Finally, in a last ditch effort, they took Tommy down and enrolled
him in the local Catholic School.
After the first day, Little Tommy came home with a very serious look on his
face. He didn't even kiss his mother hello. Instead, he
went straight to his room and started studying. Books and papers were
spread out all over the room and little Tommy was hard at
work. His mother was amazed. She called him down to dinner and to her
shock, the minute he was done he marched back to his
room without a word and in no time he was back hitting the books as hard as
before. This went on for some time, day after day,
while the mother tried to understand what made all the difference.
Finally, little Tommy brought home his report card. He quietly laid it on
the table and went up to his room and hit the books. With
great trepidation, his Mom looked at it and to her surprise, little Tommy
got an A in math. She could no longer hold her curiosity.
She went to his room and said: "Son, what was it???? Was it the Nuns??"
Little Tommy looked at her and shook his head, no.
"Well, then," she replied, "was it the books, the discipline, the
structure, the uniforms???? WHHAAATTTT was it????"
Little Tommy said, "On the first day of school, I saw that guy nailed to
the plus sign, I knew they weren't fooling around."

Something I really didn't like to talk about.
I was going into DC on some business. From where I was at the time, I took a highway (as I have done dozens of times) that passes right by the Pentagon. This highway goes right past the side that got hit.
I just missed it by a few minutes. When I heard the news, I just headed home. I could only imagine if I had been delayed a few minutes, I could have seen it happen. I'm glad I didn't see it happen though. I saw the aftermath a few days later. TV really didn't do it justice.
Also, that weekend, I had to attend a funeral in New Jersey, right across the river from NY. People were still in shock. Looking at the skyline from the Jersey waterfront, I could still smell the destruction in the air while watching that smoke rise up to the sky.
us anti-abortionist faces execution
the first man to face the death penalty in the united states for killing a doctor who performed abortions is to be executed on wednesday.
paul hill, 49, is due to die by lethal injection in northern florida, following his conviction of the murder of two people outside an abortion clinic in 1994. .
Sterile or not, abortion isn't healthy for the baby regardless
I thinks that's kind of an obvious point Yiz.
there was this guy.
one day he went to work and found that a new girl had started working with him at his office.
her name was clearly and she was absolutely gorgeous.
on bank holiday monday just gone, a dear kind older couple in the cong decided to take me and my good lady out for a slap up meal, to try to cheer us up after the recent upheaval in our life.
somehow i ended up with the bill.. anyway, this was the local italian trattoria were we often go, and are on first names terms with the staff and quite a few of the other regulars.
big mistake!!.
It makes me wonder about those who have to make praying in public such a big show. Is it really giving thanks to God, or is it more like "Hey, look at me". I think it's more of the latter. There is no need for such a long showy prayer in public.
